A masterpiece! Highly collectible antique 1860s red and green appliqué four square quilt with a floral urn border

This incredible border is being researched and is speculated that the original design comes from New York

Densely quilted with feathered vines, Fish scale quilting, and 1/4” line quilting

Expertly hand quilted at 13-14 tiny stitches per inch

Features stunning reverse applique in the flowers

Hand appliquéd

This quilt has a rod pocket sewn onto the back for easy hanging

Very thin cotton batting

Hand bound

Measures 88” x 86”

in excellent condition with some light age, tanning/spotting, a couple of faint color lifting spots in the green. And one pindot size surface tear. See photos. No wear
