To my followers: Lent begins tomorrow, and once again I will be participating in a social media fast.
In his Message for Lent 2026, Pope Leo XIV encourages us to focus on listening: “The willingness to listen is the first way we demonstrate our desire to enter into relationship with someone… we must allow God to teach us how to listen as he does.” He calls us to fast with humility, to refrain from unkindness, and to walk this Lenten journey together as one Body of Christ.
I’ve found that social media can often divide, separate, and isolate us. This Lent, I’ll be stepping away to spend more time in real community and in attentive listening to God’s Word.
