I was watering my indoor plants this morning and decided to water this begonia in the sink. Its terra cotta pot needs a good soaking I’m thinking, and what should appear to my surprised eyes, but this pretty bloom! That’s a first for this plant, which I acquired as a rooted cutting at a yard sale last year. This plant is very easy care, puts up with my very low light house, and cuttings root easily! A keeper for sure!

Amazing vintage 60’s suede coat and appliquéd leather boots making their way into the shop. The gal who owned these must have felt so confident striding down the road in this stunning combo, you know purple was her favorite color. These two pieces were not the only purple pieces I acquired at this sale, but they are the most dramatic! I know it’s not exactly coat season, but you’ve got to grab the special pieces when you see them. Am I right?!

Calling all young artists!

The County of Lake is hosting a coloring contest in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.

Stop by the County Administrative Office at 255 N. Forbes Street in Lakeport, located at the Courthouse, to pick up and coloring contest picture.

Participants will have the chance to win fun prizes, including basketballs, soccer balls, and a co****le game.

A very productive day moving treasures out of my garage and doing a little rearranging, started here, with a healthy breakfast on my deck. One of the simple pleasures of summer is eating outside. It’s so peaceful and contemplative, you really focus on all your senses; the taste of the delicious food, the wind blowing through the trees, the birds singing in those trees and the heat of the sun on your face. It centers and grounds me. Give it a try!
