It’s been so good to get away from home and be surrounded in GREEN and all things that grow because they want to not because I am willing them to survive everyday (sorry your foliage makes me sad) the blackberries are ripe for the picking! HELP! I’ve lived here three years now and have yet to finish the master bedroom. I’m minimalist but not as minimalist as this big empty wall in here (picture 3) what goes there? I don’t want family/kid pictures. I like picture 4 a lot but it would probably take me like 7-24 years to get a collection like that. What do you think ?? @ Midland, Texas

I have realized my favorite spots in the house are made of the oldest items. I got this antique buffet in Lubbock in college at an auction. It’s missing a handle now but I like her still. The little blue tea pot is my grandmothers and the prints are from a vintage botany book. I would love to see your favorite spaces too!

This is one of my favorite houses. It’s my grandma’s house in little bitty town west Texas. This is likely the last time I’ll ever see it, she hasn’t lived there in two years because she needs full time care. My mother and I went through some things today and it was bitter sweet. So many things that I love, I love because they are what she loved. .
I have had a couple friends, whom I greatly value, say things like “oh well you wouldn’t like my house it’s not your style” This kills me. I do love home design but me sharing my love doesn’t make me think less of your design. Especially because it is mostly likely carefully chosen pieces by you. Your house should look like you. And I like you. .

I can this house all day but then Rob shows up with a teepee in the living room and now he’s the favorite. (It’s from and super affordable.) I’m off to enjoy this gorgeous unicorn day where simultaneously my house is clean, laundry is done AND I have groceries.
