Our first meeting of our new Low Stimulus Stitch Group was small but mighty! Thanks to everyone who came to try out this new option!

Our next get together is August 23rd, from 4pm-6pm. Grab a spot in the Lounge, bring a chair just in case, don't forget your earbuds, and come stitch with us.

This is a stitch group for those whose social battery is running low, or those who feel overwhelmed in high social situations. No talking needed! Load up your audiobooks, choose your favorite music, or queue up your favorite show, and stitch away with us.

Format:

Bring a chair just in case, don't forget your earbuds, and come stitch with us! As always, bring your beverage of choice, or enjoy coffee, tea, or water on us. We want to make this space as inviting and inclusive as possible for those who need quieter support with their making.

We'll have a few guidelines for this group in the spirit of making it inclusive for all:

The shop will be open for the first 15 minutes of the group. While the shop is open, people are encouraged to greet each other, share progress on their projects, and settle in for the afternoon.

​At 4:15, the shop will close, and earbuds go in to concentrate on all your projects until 6pm.

​If you need help from friends or want to ask questions, we ask that you step into the classroom and shut the door to respect the quiet vibe of the stitch group.

We'll enjoy and respect the quiet while having fun in the company of others! Come on out and join us this Sunday!

Got a finished sweater, shawl, or handspun skein you're proud of? Show it off at the Chesterfield County Fair! It's a great way to celebrate your work and represent the fiber arts community.

Registration is online only through CCFA FairEntry, and closes at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Entries must be delivered in person on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 3-8 p.m., with judging starting Friday, August 28, 2026.
