Flowers are a big part of my life. There’s nothing better than being able to plan a few pots for around my property. Dahlias are a staple. I buy things with unique leaf shapes and I always have vining/trailing things. You need a thriller, spiller and a filler! Your thriller is your tall middle. Then your filler goes around that and then your spillers in front of those to spill over your container. I’m a bit late getting started this year but stayed tuned for progress!

Some flowers around Mackinac Island right now. It was a long hard winter on the island! The tulips are barely blooming and there’s still snow in the middle of the island! This is one for the record books! It’s starting to wake up though. Yesterday morning a carriage full of flowers on its way to Stonecliff for a wedding today! What dreams are made of. Island life!

I found these curved antique windows without a crack and no missing panes a few years ago and I knew immediately they were mine to keep and not to sell. They hang in my dining room. They have the perfect amount of crackling to them and so much vintage character that I love. I add wreaths depending on the season and can remove and they even look great plain! Windows add character and depth to any room. Surround yourself with what makes you happy I’ve always said. These make me VERY happy.
