A weekend to remember! As we continue rolling into our 2026 season at BBQ Gives Back KCBS Contest in Urbana, VA, I’m feeling both excited and humbled by the outcome. There aren’t many weekends where everything comes together the way it did for us. It’s hard to put into words what this one meant. Getting the chance to compete alongside some of the best in BBQ is always an honor. This weekend, B’s Que rose to the occasion and did what we know how to do. A huge thank‑you to Mary, Bill, and every volunteer who put their time and heart into making this competition what it was. We appreciate you more than you know.

Now for the results:

Overall Grand Champion with a 702.24 🤯

We officially opened our 2026 competition season with a trip down to Iron Station, NC for the King of the Farm at Mission Farms. This was our first time at this event, and the organizers absolutely delivered. We had a great time and will definitely be back next year. Aside from a rainy, cloudy Friday, Saturday turned into a beautiful day and a perfect way to shake off the winter rust. Our goals for the weekend were simple: get back into the rhythm and earn at least one call. Mission accomplished on both fronts!! We’ve got a few weeks off before heading to Urbana, VA for the BBQ Gives Back KCBS Contest. B’s Que is officially rolling into 2026.

Now for the results out of 33 teams:
18th Chicken
5th place ribs
27th place pork (and we knew it!)
22nd Brisket
Good enough for 16th overall

It’s been a busy few weeks since I posted. I feel I wanted to catch you all up on our competitions. We went up to Harrisburg PA (10/3-10/4) for the Keystone Classic. Brian McAllister and team put on a great competition. This was the first time doing this comp. Then we moved on to Bel Air MD (10/10-10/11). Fastly becoming one of our favorite comps. This was or maybe was the last comp of the year (you never know….hahaha).

Now of for the results:

Keystone Classic BBQ State Championship:
Chciken…..???!!!???
Ribs – 2nd Place
Pork – 5th Place
Brisket – 11th Place
8th overall out of 30 teams!

We went up to Milford Delaware for the First State BBQ Bash. Great Comp at the moose lodge put together by Dave Dick form Ham Squad! We will definitely be back next year. We feel we had a consistent cook but came up a little short in some categories. Chicken which has been our strong suit all year did not let us down with a 7th place finish. Making some minor tweaks and moving on! No time to relax. Back at it again next weekend at the Keystone Classic in Harrisburg PA.

So……. sticking with the Virginia theme this month we headed over the Inaugural Stoney Creek BBQ Cookoff in Edinburg, VA. I do have to say Chris and his team did a great job putting this together. All in all, we had a pretty good cook. The Ribs!!!!! We just won’t talk about that.

After a little break since Wildwood….B’s Que packed up and headed 15 minutes up the street (for me anyway…hahaha) to compete in The Triple Crown BBQ KCBS Contest. Chock full of heavy hitters in the KCBS. We have been steadily getting better this year and it’s really starting to click! What a weekend we had! We really felt good about our cook and I am happy the judges agreed!
First, I want to thank Mary for putting this great competition together! Her and her team did a great job. Can’t wait for next year!

Had a decent weekend in Delta Pa at the York County BBQ Festival. A KCBS double.

Day 1 results weren’t what we were looking for. judges didn’t seem to like our favor profile. Not a great start!
