If you ever find yourself in Beaufort County, North Carolina, a visit to Oden’s Store in Pinetown is an absolute must!
This age old General Mercantile Store is the real deal….130 years old, with long store counters, creaky wood floors and treasures quite literally stacked floor to ceiling. Owned by the same family for generations, Oden’s is chock full of family heirlooms, antiques of all sorts, piles of tools, and goodies galore! I loaded my truck with treasures, enjoyed my chat with the owner, and felt like I had stepped back in time for an hour or so.
I’ll definitely be making a trip back, hopefully soon!

Tonight we said goodbye to little Miss Capri and Sneads Ferry NC, the beautiful Topsail Beach, and our kids Carolyn & Chad. It’s been an amazing vacation, but it’s not over yet!
Tomorrow we mosey up the coast to pick a 130 yr old general store-
And then a visit with our oldest grandson, Remy!

Lots of family time, plenty of pickin and memories made!
It doesn’t get any better than this!

Many of us who love adding a
touch of vintage cannot resist a beautiful old tin or two...
They're so lovely but also useful...many are filled with small treasures, such buttons, costume jewelry, teabags, little bits of this and that.

Old tins evoke a sense of times gone by, when everything had a use, and many, many reuses. Some even ended up out in the garage or shed or cellar, filled with nuts n bolts n screws, tiny tacks.

One thing I love to do with pretty vintage tins is to use them instead of gift wrap! Just give a good scrub, line with some pretty tissue, and add a pretty ribbon to the lid! It's guaranteed to bring a big smile and kept as a heart-felt treasure.
