Welcome to Sylva Studio 〰️
The name “Sylva” is inspired by two of the things that mean the most to me: my daughter, Sylvie, and the natural world. Both her name and Sylva share roots in the Latin word for “forest,” a connection that reflects the grounding influence of nature and the way it shapes the spaces we create and live in.
If you’ve been following along, you might remember that my design business has had a few different names over the years—Mtn Town and Desert Town—each reflecting the places I called home at the time. Sylva was a natural evolution, rooted in something enduring: the relationship between home, nature, and the seasons.
At Sylva Studio, I focus on holistic home design—integrating thoughtful choices that prioritize well-being and sustainability. From using clean materials to crafting designs that are functional and reflect an earthy, grounded aesthetic, my goal is to help you create a home that feels intentional, welcoming, and true to your lifestyle.
My design philosophy is shaped by the rhythm of the seasons here in Wisconsin—hunkering down in winter, making your home a cozy retreat from the cold, and then embracing the vibrancy and energy of spring, summer, and fall. Sylva is about designing spaces that celebrate natural materials, thoughtful details, and a sense of home year-round.
