I built a business I love, but somewhere along the way, I forgot I was allowed to clock out.

And lately, I've been trying to change that.

The past few weeks have been full of beautiful design presentations, exciting projects coming to life, job site visits, and all the little details that make me fall in love with what I do over and over again.

But they've also been full of gymnastics milestones, family pictures, pumpkin patches, date nights with my favorite coworker (who also happens to be my husband 😉), and slow mornings with coffee before the rest of the house wakes up.

For a long time, I felt like being a successful business owner meant always being available. There was always one more email, one more client question, one more thing I could get done.

And while I'm incredibly proud of what we're building at Juniper & Jade, I'm learning that success isn't just about how much I can accomplish in a day.

It's also about being present for the life I'm working so hard to build.

So here's a little glimpse into what life has looked like lately. A whole lot of design, a little chaos, and some really beautiful moments in between.

A home should get better with time.

Natural materials develop character. Furniture becomes more comfortable as it’s lived in. Rooms collect memories, traditions take shape, and spaces evolve alongside the families who call them home.

We believe timeless design isn’t about keeping a home looking brand new. It’s about creating something beautiful enough to love today, thoughtful enough to grow with you, and personal enough to feel even more like home as the years pass.

We aren’t designing for reveal day. We’re designing for year ten, too.

Good design should make your life easier.

It’s the kitchen that flows effortlessly during busy mornings. The thoughtfully placed storage that keeps everyday clutter out of sight. The lighting that creates just the right atmosphere, and the spaces that bring everyone together naturally.

Because the most beautiful homes aren’t just designed to be admired. They’re designed to be lived in.

I think one of the biggest misconceptions about being an interior designer is that we spend our days picking out pretty things. And while I absolutely LOVE that part of my job, it’s such a small piece of what we actually do.

When I started Juniper & Jade, I wanted to create beautiful homes, but more importantly, I wanted to create an experience where my clients could actually enjoy the process of bringing their dream home to life.

What most people don’t see are the hundreds of decisions, conversations, moving pieces, and little details that happen behind the scenes.

And truthfully, that’s exactly how I want it.

My clients have enough on their plates. My job is to take as much of that off of them as possible, so they can focus on the exciting parts.

Because to me, luxury isn’t just about having a beautiful home. It’s about the experience of getting there. 🤎

The kitchen isn’t really about the kitchen.

It’s about morning coffee before the rest of the house wakes up.

It’s kids pulling up a chair to the island. Friends lingering long after dinner is finished. Groceries being unpacked, lunches being made, and everyone somehow gathering in the same place at the end of the day.

It’s the ordinary moments (and the really special ones) that happen here.

That’s why when we design a kitchen, we’re thinking beyond cabinetry, countertops, and lighting. We’re considering how people will move through the space, where they’ll gather, what needs to be within reach, what can be tucked away, and how the kitchen connects to the rooms around it.

Because ultimately, we’re not just designing a kitchen.

We’re designing a place for life to happen.
