When we design your home, we’re thinking about more than how it will look. We’re thinking about how life will happen within it.

Five moments we think about throughout the design process:

1. The morning rush.
Where does the coffee happen? Where do backpacks, shoes, keys, and everything else land? We design for busy mornings to feel a little less busy.

2. The everyday gathering.
The conversations around the kitchen island. Homework at the table. Everyone somehow ending up in the same room at the end of the day. We think about the spaces that naturally bring people together.

3. The quiet moment.
A morning cup of coffee. Reading by the window. Unwinding at the end of a long day. Your home should have places that invite you to slow down.

4. The people you’ll welcome in.
Holiday dinners, impromptu get-togethers, overnight guests, and celebrations. We consider how your home can entertain beautifully while still functioning effortlessly every other day of the year.

5. The moment you walk through the door.
Perhaps the most important one. We want your home to immediately feel like yours—calm, welcoming, collected, and deeply personal.

Because great design isn’t only about cabinetry, lighting, furniture, and finishes.

It’s about anticipating the life that will happen around them.

And creating a home that makes those everyday moments feel just a little more beautiful.

And before anyone panics… this doesn’t mean you have to rip anything out of your house. Design isn’t about rules but about creating a home that feels intentional, personal, and built to last.

1 — The Accent Wall
One random wall in a sea of beige is feeling a little… 2015.
Try instead: Color drenching, wallpaper, or carrying the design throughout the entire room.

2 — Cold Gray Everything
Gray floors + gray walls + gray cabinets + gray furniture = 🥶
Try instead: Warm neutrals, natural wood, earthy tones, and layered textures.

3 — The Sea of Recessed Lights
More lights ≠ better lighting. A ceiling full of can lights can make a space feel flat and commercial.
Try instead: Layered lighting—pendants, sconces, lamps, and strategically placed recessed lights.

4 — The “Matching Everything” Look
Matching furniture sets and buying every piece from the same collection can make a room feel more like a showroom than a home.
Try instead: Mix materials, finishes, vintage + new, and pieces that actually reflect you.

The goal isn’t to chase every new trend.
It’s to create a home that feels collected, functional, and uniquely yours.

A beautiful new build doesn’t automatically become a beautifully designed home.

And this is exactly why we encourage our clients to bring an interior designer in before the build begins.

When we’re involved early, we’re not just choosing pretty finishes.

We’re thinking about how the cabinetry, lighting, flooring, millwork, stone, hardware, paint, furnishings and all of those tiny details will work together.

We’re looking at where a room needs contrast.
Where it needs warmth.
Where lighting should make a statement.
Where architectural details can add character.
And how one decision will affect the next.

Because when every selection is made independently—or everything is chosen simply to “match”—you can end up with a brand-new home that still feels like it’s missing something.

But if you’ve already built your home and you’re reading this thinking, *Well… shoot.* 😂

You haven’t missed your chance.

We can change the lighting. Add millwork and wallpaper. Bring in texture, contrast, window treatments and furnishings. Layer in the pieces that make your home feel collected, intentional and like **you.**

So whether your plans are still on paper or you’ve already been living in your new build for three years wondering why it doesn’t quite feel finished—we can meet you there.

The earlier we’re involved, the more we can shape.

But it’s never too late to give your home the warmth and character it’s been missing. 🤎

Trends may catch your eye, but timeless design is what you'll continue to love for years to come.

When we're making selections for a home, we think beyond what's popular right now. We ask: Will this still feel beautiful ten years from now?

A few timeless choices we return to again and again:

• Warm, stained wood — especially on kitchen islands, cabinetry, and architectural details. Natural wood brings depth and character that only gets better with time.

• Natural stone countertops — granite and marble offer organic variation and movement that give a space character without relying on a trend.

• Simple, well-proportioned furniture — clean silhouettes and quality materials create a foundation that can evolve with your home over time.

• Classic tile with subtle interest — simple shapes and quiet, neutral tones don't have to feel boring. Mixing scale, texture, or pattern—like a clean rectangular tile paired with a smaller hex—adds dimension while maintaining a timeless feel.

Timeless doesn't mean boring.

It means choosing materials with character, investing in quality, and knowing when to let simplicity speak for itself.

Because the goal isn't to design a home that looks perfect for this moment.

It's to create one you'll still walk into years from now and think, I love this.

For this space, we wanted to create something that felt just as considered as the rest of the home…a beautiful balance of function, craftsmanship, and the everyday realities of family life.

Custom built-ins frame a generous work surface for art projects, homework, and creativity, while tailored storage gives everything a place. The soft blue cabinetry, warm wood countertop, layered millwork, and brass details bring an elevated, timeless quality to a room designed to be truly lived in.

Because luxury in a family home isn’t about creating spaces that feel too precious to use. It’s about thoughtful design that makes everyday life feel more beautiful.

A place for little hands, big imaginations, and a home that never has to compromise on style.
