We are Milwaukee and we adhere to the history of making while looking to the future. We are designers and proud makers located in Milwaukee’s Walkers Point. We combine the latest design and fabrication processes, digital technology, and team expertise in our cutting-edge workshop. Our clients and customers are ambitious and seek solutions found nowhere else. Scopes range from small household acces

sories to large interior constructions for both commercial and residential projects. We create beautiful custom furnishings and spaces that blur the lines between art, design, and technology. We create through a collaborative design process and our cutting-edge fabrication shop. Through this process we are able to construct objects of value, quality and uniqueness, setting DF apart from paper-only design firms. We bring together digital visualization tools and traditional design tools which are executed with computer precision in our hybrid workshop. DF’s standard of delivering elegant projects, on-time and on-budget have proved to exceed the expectations of our clients. We work with clients through our entire design process – from idea generation and preliminary sketches to the fabrication and finish of high-quality products, installations, sculptures, and interiors. IDEA PHASE.It is critical to be on the same page. The process of designing something great is demanding. To create something of lasting value we believe we must first learn about our clients. We build relationships through dialogue, brainstorming ideas, sketching and rendering concepts. We decide how to bring ideas to life only after our exhaustive research and design has been shared and agreed upon. FABRICATION PHASE: Getting our hands dirty. After we have explored ideas, swapped sketches and formed a shared vision, Design Fugitives is uniquely positioned to actually bring the ideas to life in our cutting-edge full-service fabrication shop. While this phase is much louder and dirtier than the last, we still invite clients into the workshop and create samples to continually refine the product, furniture or finish.

As 2020 comes to a close, we are reminded of the
amazing clients we have had the pleasure of working with throughout this year and years past.
Despite the many challenges, we were able to create stunning spaces and
timeless sculptural features. We are grateful for the many projects we were able to complete, and look forward to many more in 2021.

In the final weeks before the new year we’re going to be sharing a few sneak peaks into some upcoming projects coming in 2021. Any guesses on the name?

The best part about this project was the fact that we were able to work closely with to make the kids designs come to life. Each kid created a series of drawings that symbolized the rich Latino and American culture within the community.
Those designs were then translated into a CAD file that was the laser cut onto a sheet of steel.

This project highlights two things we really love to do:
1. We love working with people who have a vision for how to improve people’s lives, especially in the public realm.
2. We love to engage and experiment with materials in unexpected ways.
Speaking of materials: We think the combination of ceramic castings and laser-cut rusted steel looks pretty cool, don’t you?
