Hello! 👋 If you don't know me already, I'm Hayley, the face behind Blumen Wood Flowers! I'm a mom to my almost one year old baby boy Oliver, I'm an aquatic biologist by day, and a florist the rest of the time! I've been a florist since high school, when I worked in the floral department of a local grocery store. I pursued other interests in college and came back to floral design a few years ago after I got married and was able to use my wedding planning experience and floral design skills to do wedding flowers for friends and family! I am also trained in floral design by the Milwaukee Institute of Flower Design!
As much as I love fresh flowers, they've always been a challenge for me because I don't have a large floral studio or floral fridge. And now that I've got a little person in the house, lack of space and the time crunch of getting floral work done the couple of days before an event so the flowers don't die, became more stress than it was enjoyable.
In early 2019, I discovered sola wood flowers and fell in love with them! Sola wood flowers allow me to create beautiful, unique, and totally customizable floral arrangements and bouquets without the fear of them dying before the event, because they last forever! When used in a wedding, sola wood flowers can be kept forever as a reminder of your big day 💕
In fall of 2019, I sold my arrangements and home decor items at a few craft fairs. Buuut then a pandemic hit and I got pregnant, so forming a business out of my hobby fell to the wayside. I continued to practice my craft by making gifts for friends and family, and this past summer of 2021 I did my first 2 sola wood flower weddings. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to continue to provide beautiful sola wood wedding floral and home decor, hopefully expanding a bit outside of my circle of family and friends 😉
