As much as I love programming and designing innovative websites for my clients, I also have the same passion for repurposing old books and preserving antique home decor. Sharing my crafts with the world brings me pure joy, which is why I decided to open JLH Upcycling. Growing up in the 90's, I was a huge fan of Ghost Writer and the Boxcar Children books. As a young girl, I would beg my parents to

take me to the local hardware store to pick up the newest releases. My love for unconventional reads has stayed with me to this day, which is why it's my mission as a handmade seller to save as many damaged books as I can. I partner with local antique book stores to save books that would traditionally be thrown in the garbage. Instead of throwing them away, why not recycle the materials to display their beauty in a new way? I had a fun day shopping at ! I’ve never been to so I thought I’d stop by, check out the space and support my local makers. What a cool little place! 🪴☀️

Here’s what I scored today:

-A cute little photo magnet border from . Such a cute idea - I have a photo booth picture with a girlfriend on my fridge so this was perfect timing 📷

-OG Pizza Hut print and bumper sticker from .co. I saw them on IG a few days ago and my inner millennial HAD to have them. Also can we bring back dine-in vintage style complete with salad bar and chocolate pudding please and thank you. 🍕

-Chocolate chip and GF matcha cookies from . Please stop by their diner, trust me - it’s a gem. One of my favorite Milwaukee hangout spots ☕️ They make so many tasty goodies from pistachio pudding to homemade biscuits and breakfast sandwiches. 🍳🥪

-Candles from . I’m so excited I finally got to say hi and check these out! We’ve vended at some of the same markets but I kept missing my chance to step away and smell all the yetis. I got North Woods Cabin, Summer Night Swimming and the last Birch Please tins 😇.

-2 adorable pairs of earrings from . I forgot to ask Rachel for a picture lol but I couldn’t pass up the Milwaukee flag and heart studs 💙💛. Personally I like understated jewelry, and I like her earrings because the quality is beautiful without being flashy or over the top. She has all sorts of styles too - danglies, seasonal etc. ☺️
