💙 GARY UPDATE! 💙
We wanted to share another update on Gary and his recovery. We are so thankful to say that he continues to make great progress!
Gary has been working hard in physical therapy on his arm, focusing on regaining his range of motion. On September 15th, he had his 6-week follow-up appointments with both of his surgeons, and we received some wonderful news — he has officially been released with NO restrictions on his hip! 🙌
He has also been cleared to come back to work, which is another huge step forward! He is still not released to drive just yet, so you may see him back around Freeze Carpets, but someone else will still be doing the driving for a little while. 😊
While his hip has made wonderful progress, his arm still has a long road to recovery. According to his surgeon and physical therapist, it could still be anywhere from 6 months to a year before he is able to lift normally with his injured arm. Right now, he is only allowed to lift about 1 pound with that arm.
Physical therapy is continuing to focus on getting his elbow moving properly again. He is working hard on being able to fully straighten and bend his elbow and regain his range of motion. There is still a lot of physical therapy ahead of him, but he continues to work hard and make progress!
In about 3 weeks, Gary will return to his arm surgeon for another follow-up. This appointment will mark approximately 12 weeks since his surgery, and we are hoping he will receive the all-clear to start driving again! 🤞
Looking back at where we started after his fall, arm surgery, and total hip replacement, we are incredibly grateful for how well his recovery has gone. He has worked hard every step of the way, and we couldn't be happier with his progress. Although being cleared to return to work is a huge milestone, we know that doesn't mean his recovery is over. He still has quite a journey ahead with his arm, and we are taking it one step at a time.
We also want to say THANK YOU again to everyone who has called, texted, stopped by, prayed for us, checked on Gary, and offered to help our family and Freeze Carpets during his recovery. The love and support we have received from our friends, family, customers, and community has meant more to us than we could ever put into words. ❤️
We’re getting closer and closer to having Gary back to his normal routine — and we know he is more than ready for it! 😂
Thank you all for continuing to keep Gary in your thoughts and prayers! 💙
