Painting your interior doors (and the interior of your front door) a different color from your walls is one of the highest-return design moves in any home and almost nobody does it.

White walls, white trim, white doors. It’s the default. But a door painted a forest green, a charcoal blue or even a warm black gives a room an anchor. Something for the eye to land on.
