Friends - please consider contacting your elected official and the Mayor to let them know that the current Quincy reconstruction plan will cause irreparable damage to the heart of our beloved arts district.

We of course need Quincy to be repaired and more accessible, but the current proposal will remove loading dock access to industrial buildings, it will make the delivery of material and the removal of finished goods impossible.

This runs the very real risk of displacing businesses that make Quincy the vibrant community that it is.

As Art-A-Whirl approaches, artists and business owners in Northeast Minneapolis are voicing concerns about a major road project on Quincy Street that could impact their future. FULL STORY: bit.ly/4uL2hkf

These have been heavy weeks in Minneapolis, but tonight was a reminder of the good that comes from community. I was grateful to host Cub Scouts from Pack 419, sharing a bit about furniture making and woodworking—and of course letting the youngsters try out some tools and make some sawdust.

Ready for this year's European Christmas Market, I will have a limited number of chess sets available. These are handcrafted from solid wood. The board is black walnut and maple, the case is black walnut. There are some subtle details that make these stand out, such as the compound miters on the case and a magnetic closure for the board to the case. Due to limited numbers these will only be available at the market.
