What does a workspace built around how women actually work look like?
ModernWell Wayzata is our answer. We designed it as a women-centered co-working space — shaped for focus, connection, creativity, and community, and for the brand it carries. It was recognized by ASID Minnesota in Office Space, and we were glad to see it featured recently in Lake Minnetonka Magazine.

Traditional layout or open office? It's no longer the question.
The real conversation now is about how your team works, and more importantly, how they could work if the space supported them differently. That's a much more interesting question to sit with, and it's the one that actually shapes a great layout.
On a recent project, we walked a client through exactly that conversation. The layout that came out of it was a hybrid built around the specific way that team works, and the way they wanted to grow into working. We wrote up how we got there.
🔗 📖 How we know when open office layout design is the right call

Open or closed office? That's the wrong question. We design open offices that fit how a team actually works through the day — see how we built one in MN.

Most office color projects start and end with the brand standards document. We think that's where the real work begins.
Our latest blog walks through what it actually looks like to translate a company's brand into the room they work in every day — using Professional Data Analysts as the worked example. PDA carries the widest brand palette we've ever designed for, and the office had to honor that whole spectrum without overwhelming the people inside it.

Most articles about office trends miss the actual conversation happening with leadership teams right now.
Flexibility isn't pushback anymore — it's mainstream. Wellbeing isn't a perk — it's competitive labor strategy. And too far in either direction (too flexible OR too rigid) and a company loses productivity, culture, and the quality of the employees they set out to attract.
Our newest blog walks through what we've actually changed in how we approach office projects, with INDPRO and Scott + Hespen Law as evidence that the right answer looks very different for very different teams.

There's no single best office. The right one matches how your team actually works. Here's how Minneapolis's most effective office designs get made.

When SeaChange Printing was acquired by new ownership, the brand transformed overnight — bold, energetic, a true stand-out. The building was functional but not yet telling the new story.
We rebuilt the space around the new identity. Teal and magenta running through the surfaces. A wall mural made from an enlarged actual print proof. Brand color reaching all the way into the breakroom and the locker bays.
What we didn't entirely plan for: the people changed too. The demeanor shifted. The joy in the work shifted. Even how employees chose to dress when they came in.
That's what a real branded environment does — not signage, not slogans. Employees experiencing the brand firsthand and becoming more themselves inside it.

A truly branded environment embodies your culture, mission, and vision — so people feel who you are the moment they walk in. Here's how we do it.

The University of Minnesota Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo-Engineering had a 750-square-foot glass-walled room that nobody used.
The brief was to make it a space students and faculty would walk into deliberately — for advising, for welcome, for the kind of collaborative review where ideas actually get refined. The architectural shell was sound. The systems were sound. What the room needed was identity.
We made the department's own work the answer. Their research, their project sites, their built architecture became the visual story — cityscapes and case studies mounted against a deep charcoal backdrop, connecting coursework to real-world practice. The room now does what the original shell could not: it tells students what they are part of every time they walk in.
ASID Minnesota recognized the work with First Place in Institutional at the 2026 Design Excellence Awards. The partnership with the department is what shaped every decision.

Some retail design choices are noticed only when they are missing.
At Judith McGrann and Friends, the fitting lounge was designed for varied ages, sizes, and abilities. Lighting was tuned for true garment color and flattering skin tones in the exact moment a customer is deciding. The kind of details Judith and her team cared about deeply — and trusted us to bring into the space.
ASID Minnesota named the work First Place in Retail at the 2026 Design Excellence Awards. NARI Minnesota recognized it with Silver in Commercial Interior at the CotY Awards.
