That's one of the reasons Kent recently earned his Certified Universal Design Professional (CUDP) designation through the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. It's advanced training focused on designing homes that are comfortable, functional, and beautiful for every stage of life.

In fact, one of our recent projects, designed around exactly this goal, was recognized with a National Remodeler of the Year Award.

When people hear "Universal Design," they often picture grab bars and wheelchair ramps. In reality, Universal Design is much broader.

It's about designing homes that are easier, safer, and more comfortable for everyone.

That might mean:
✔ Better lighting
✔ Wider walkways
✔ Curbless showers
✔ Easy-to-reach storage
✔ Lever door handles
✔ Fewer tripping hazards

Many of these features don't even stand out. They simply make everyday life easier.

Universal Design is about creating homes that work better for everyone, regardless of age or ability. It's thoughtful design that improves comfort, safety, and function without sacrificing style. it's often called Aging-in-Place.

Well…this was a pretty fun moment. 😄

I had the chance to be in Tempe, AZ, for the awards ceremony this year—and got to hear our name called for a National Remodeler of the Year Award 🏆in the Residential Addition $250,000 - $500,000 category from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry

This one was for a residential addition project we’re really proud of. It also received a Regional award for the universal design bath.

What I appreciate most about this project is what it was trying to do... help our homeowners stay in the home they love and make it work better for how they live now and into the future.
