Art-A-Whirl begins tomorrow! This art festival runs May 15th-17th and is one of the largest in the nation. Presented by the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA). For the first time in 7 years, we are opening our doors to a small portion of our store. We will be open Friday 10 to 3 and Saturday 12 to 8. Quincy Street Northeast is going to be closed starting Friday, so plan ahead for parking. Visit NEEMA’s website for more information.

One week until Doors Open 2026! Whether you’re a new visitor to our store or a long time customer, now’s your chance to get a behind the scenes tour of what we do! On Saturday, our store we open for business as usual from 10-4 and there will be self guided tours through our store. On Sunday from 10-5, we will have staff guided tours showing our photography studio, art glass shade collection, light shop, hardware department, shipping area, and wood shop. We will also highlight unique pieces with storied pasts that have been preserved through the work we do.

The feeling when it’s finally the weekend…or in this case, our enthusiasm for these gigantic beauties! We have 2 of these bowls, and they are the last fixtures we have left from University of Minnesota’s Northrop Auditorium. The auditorium was designed by Cass Gilbert in 1929, and while these 5 foot bowls look huge in the store, they were perfectly proportioned in their original home.
