Meet our new ASID MN President, Lisa!
Lisa Africano is the Founder and Lead Designer of LA Design North, bringing decades of experience in the creative industry to every project she touches. Her guiding philosophy is simple: taking you where you want to go but can't get there by yourself.
Her path into professional design began with the restoration of a 100-year-old farmhouse — a labor of love that caught the attention of Country Home magazine and launched a career that has flourished ever since. What started as a personal passion quickly grew into a professional calling, as the design industry took notice and opportunities continued to expand. Alongside her team, Lisa went on to build a distinguished portfolio of high-end lakeshore homes in northern Wisconsin, earning a reputation for thoughtful craftsmanship and an unwavering eye for detail.
Today, LA Design North offers comprehensive design guidance across projects of every scale — from ground-up custom builds and large-scale renovations to intimate, detail-driven transformations. Central to Lisa's approach is a simple conviction: it's in the details. She believes beautiful spaces are born from the careful curation of elements that, brought together with intention, elevate a house into a home.
An avid traveler, Lisa draws inspiration from the places she visits and encourages her clients to do the same, viewing travel as one of the most rewarding investments a person can make — and a powerful source of ideas for enriching the spaces where we live.
At the heart of her practice is a deep commitment to her clients. Lisa takes pride in guiding people toward the vision they can see but may not know how to realize on their own, bringing together house and home, family and life, with warmth and professional precision. Every project, she believes, is an opportunity to nurture the connection between the people who live in a space and the space itself.
