ASID MN ASID MN is the local chapter of a national community committed to interior design.

The Minnesota Chapter of The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) advances the profession and communicates the impact of interior design to enhance the human experience. ASID interior designers are uniquely qualified by education, experience and accreditation to enhance the quality of life through design of spaces that ensure the health, safety and well-being of the user, whether it be residential, commercial, sustainable or adaptable design.

Join us for the annual ASID MN White Box Challenge, celebrating creativity, innovation, and design.

Think Outside the Box

Inside each White Box is one mystery item. Your challenge? Transform it into something completely unexpected. There are no limits to what you can create—art, sculpture, furniture, fashion, lighting, mixed media, functional design. If you can dream it, you can build it.

Only 25 White Boxes are available! Once they're gone, they're gone, so secure your box today if you want to participate in the challenge. (PICK UP AT 29 PARK starting Aug 10th)

Whether you're an interior designer, architect, artist, student, maker, or simply someone who loves to create, this is your chance to think outside the box—and have fun doing it.

Not feeling crafty? You can still be part of the excitement! Join us for the Reveal Party hosted by 29 Park, where every creation is displayed gallery-style for an evening of networking, inspiration, food, drinks, and friendly competition. Bring a friend and vote for your favorite creation as we celebrate the incredible talent of our creative community.

A panel of guest judges will select the winners in the judged categories, while Reveal Party attendees vote for the People's Choice Award.

Meet our Membership Director, Laura Engen!

Laura is the Owner and Creative Director of Laura Engen Interior Design, a full-service residential interior design studio specializing in remodels, furnishing, and styling projects for clients in the Twin Cities and beyond.

Laura started as a student member of ASID at Alexandria Technical College and joined as an Allied member almost 20 years ago. She's currently serving on the ASID Board as the Membership Director.

Laura lives in Edina with her husband and 3 boys. Outside of work, she enjoys attending her kids' sports and activities, ice skating on their pond in the backyard during the winter months, and going to the lake in the summer.

Next week is our ASID’s 2026 Summer Soiree, hosted by California Closets... Think: “Modern Garden Party” meets “Editorial Showroom”!

Our hosts will use California Closets material palettes as inventive table settings for a festive tea party, pairing material palettes with tea flavor profiles. Summer tea attire is encouraged.

A prize giveaway will go to whoever captures it all in the most engaging Instagram post! Summer teas, light bites, finger sandwiches, and desserts will be provided. We hope to see you there! (Bring a friend for free with purchase of your ticket!)

Meet Katie Mastell, ASID Volunteer Extraordinaire!

Katie graduated from Century College's Interior Design program last year. She
currently serves as on these committees: Design for Good, Gala and the Student
Committee.

Her inspiration comes from her mom and grandmas—their style, decorating, and love of creating beautiful spaces sparked her interest in design from a young age.

In Katie's free time, she enjoys sewing, painting and DIY projects which allow her to explore her creativity and passion for design.

Throwback Thursday!

We had so much fun at the Aspire DSG Summer Social event, we forgot to take pics! Check out our reel on Instagram and Facebook for a full recap. We had a great turn out, delicious food and drinks, a fun passport game with prizes, and lots of laughs and networking with friends.
