Floating through history in Xochimilco 🌼🛶

We started our day here as a family, and pro tip: go in the morning! The canals are so much calmer before the crowds roll in.

Mexican street corn in hand, a couple of cold beers, a little jewelry shopping from the boats floating by, and marigolds everywhere you looked. Then a mariachi band hopped right onto our boat and serenaded us down the canals. 🎺 Everyone had an absolute blast!

Sometimes I wonder what our kids will remember most about this chapter of growing up abroad—the big adventures or these simple little moments that have somehow become their normal.

Classmates becoming friends, birthdays on the beach, sandy feet and a whole lot of pura vida. 🤍

What a childhood they’re getting to live. ✨

A little glimpse into the everyday around here 🌴

Gym, protein shake, then off to restock the fridge… again. 😂 One thing we’ve learned living here is grocery shopping happens a lot more often. We buy less at a time, eat it fresh, and somehow we’re right back at the store a few days later.

Honestly, I kind of love it. Less stocking up, more fresh food, and a slower little rhythm we’ve gotten used to. ✨
