Some of our best work happens when we get together around the table!

Our team recently held an internal design charette to explore ideas and develop design options for a client’s new construction project. It’s a chance to share perspectives, think creatively, and build on each other’s ideas to find the right direction for a project.

Collaborating like this is one of our favorite things to do as a team, and we love seeing what happens when different perspectives come together!

It’s exciting to see the new Central Midwest Carpenters Training Facility taking shape in Warsaw!

As the project moves forward, it’s great to see the vision becoming a reality. We’re proud to be part of the team working alongside Central Midwest Carpenters, FCI Construction, and all of our project partners to create a facility that will support hands-on training and the next generation of skilled trades.

We had a great time joining AIA Northern Indiana for a behind-the-scenes look at recent renovations at Potawatomi Zoo.

From the Asian Tiger exhibit currently under construction to several animal holding areas, the tour offered a unique look at how design can respond to the complex needs of animal care and facility operations.

More than anything, it was a great chance to learn from others in our profession and connect with fellow AIA members.

Thank you to AIA Indiana and Potawatomi Zoo for hosting!

One of the best parts of completing a project is seeing how people make it their own. We’re excited to see the Wind Family Fireside Terrace, located at Morris Inn at the University of Notre Dame, being used and enjoyed throughout the day—from morning gatherings to evenings around the fire.

A great space made even better by the people who use it!

Our team had a great time hosting BSU College of Architecture and Planning students for the second annual AIAS South Bend Firm Crawl!

The Firm Crawl gives students an opportunity to step inside local architecture firms, learn more about the profession, and get a firsthand look at what it’s like to work in the field. During their visit, we shared more about Arkos Design, our projects, our approach to design, and the work that happens behind the scenes to bring ideas to life.

We enjoyed the conversation, answering questions, and connecting with the next generation of architects. Thank you to all the students who joined, and to AIAS Ball State for including us in the Crawl!

Today, we’re taking a moment to recognize the people whose work brings ideas off the page and into the built environment.

From architects and designers to engineers, contractors, and everyone behind the scenes—great spaces are the result of people working together.

We’re grateful for the skill, creativity, and craftsmanship that make our industry possible. Here’s to the people who build, create, solve, and make things happen every day.

Happy Labor Day!

This summer, NanaWall featured Wellfield Botanic Gardens in a series of videos highlighting the design of their event space.

A key feature in the space is a NanaWall sliding glass wall system that gives the room the flexibility to adapt to different events and uses. The space can function as one large gathering area or be divided into three individual rooms — all while maintaining a strong connection to the surrounding gardens.

It’s a great example of how design can give a space more possibilities without adding complexity.

21 years later and we’re just getting started!

We’re celebrating our anniversary with one of our favorite traditions: Founders Day. It’s our dedicated time to look back at where we started, look ahead at where we're going, and put our values into action by volunteering together.

This year, our team headed over to Green Bridge Growers to get our hands dirty! We spent the afternoon volunteering, learning all about their approach to sustainable, locally grown produce, and seeing firsthand how they champion inclusive job opportunities for individuals with autism.

Thank you, Green Bridge Growers, for letting us be a part of your day—we couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate!

Sometimes you forget where a project started until you see the after pictures.

We recently returned to the Jimtown Community Center more than a year after its grand reopening to see how the former high school gymnasium is continuing to serve the neighborhood. Today, the space functions as a community hub, hosting school activities, youth programming, and local events.

Restoring a piece of local history comes with a unique responsibility. Every design and preservation choice was carefully crafted to honor the building’s heritage while integrating modern amenities and accessibility updates.

Swipe through to see where we started versus where we are today!
