Every once in a while, something finds you exactly when you need it.

That was this finger mala.

Created by the incredibly talented Michelle at Root & Ritual Root and Ritual Heart Medicine spoke to me before I ever held it in my hand. I ordered it almost immediately because something about its message felt deeply familiar.

"I offer my heart the same love I freely give to others."

If I'm honest, that's something I've spent a long time learning.

Like so many of us, it's often been easier to offer compassion, encouragement, and grace to everyone around me than it has been to offer those same things to myself.

When I opened the little pouch, the first thing I noticed was the beauty of the gemstones. Rhodochrosite has always been one of my favorites, and seeing it paired with pink rabbit hair rutile and a rose quartz star felt like they had been chosen with such care and intention.

Then I slipped it onto my finger, and I felt something I hadn't expected.

Comfort.

Not only from the beautiful energy of the stones themselves, but from knowing this piece had been created with such heartfelt intention. Michelle's artistry goes far beyond beautiful craftsmanship. You can feel the care she pours into every knot, every gemstone, every decision.

This won't be something I wear absentmindedly.

It will be something I reach for intentionally.

Especially during moments of overwhelm or self-doubt, when I need the gentle reminder that I am just as worthy of love and compassion as the people I so freely give it to.

One of my favorite things about being a maker is getting to admire the work of other makers. We spend so much of our lives creating for others, and every once in a while another artist creates exactly what we didn't know our own heart needed.

Every once in a while, an idea quietly settles in and refuses to leave.

This necklace began that way.

Not with a sketch or a plan, but with curiosity.

I wondered what would happen if I painted my own clay charms.

I wasn't sure where the idea would lead or whether I'd even be good at it.

I simply felt like following it.

The little abstract charm became a study in color and movement, painted intuitively in shades of navy, aqua, white, and copper. Nothing overworked. Just simple shapes that somehow found their rhythm together.

From there, the necklace seemed to know where it wanted to go.

And somewhere in the process, I realized something.

Sometimes creativity isn't about having all the answers.

Sometimes it's simply about being curious enough to begin.

I have a feeling this won't be my last painted charm.

I've always believed some pieces choose us.

Not because we were looking for them.

But because something about them calls to us.

I could feel that as this bracelet came together.

At its center is a wise black cat, meeting your gaze with the quiet confidence of an old soul. Created by my talented friend Annie Zen Annie the image felt less like an illustration...
..and more like a page from a forgotten storybook.

The amethyst, matte black onyx, and sterling silver felt destined to become part of its story.

There are people who believe black cats bring bad luck. I've always wondered if perhaps they've simply been misunderstood.

Maybe they're quiet keepers of mystery. A reminder to trust your intuition, stay curious, notice what others overlook, and leave a little room for wonder.

Perhaps that's why Keeper of Wonder felt like the only name this bracelet could have.

Some gifts are purchased.

Others are created with one person in mind from the very beginning.

These two bracelets fall into the second category.

A dear friend of mine loves her dogs like family, so when I came across these beautiful dog focals created by my talented friend Annie Zen Annie I immediately thought of her.

One reminds me of her vibrant, playful yorkie.

The other of her sweet schnauzer.

Not exact portraits, but close enough to capture their personalities and the joy they bring to her life.

From there, I chose gemstones that echoed the colors in each focal and added little details, including pewter paw charms, to make them feel even more personal.

Creating jewelry for someone is always special.

Creating jewelry that reflects something they love so deeply is even better.

Because sometimes the most meaningful gifts aren't the ones with the biggest price tag or the fanciest packaging.

They're the ones that quietly say,

"I know you."

"I see what matters to you."

"I thought of you when I made this."

My friend hasn't received these yet, but I already know they're going to make her smile.

And honestly, that's one of my favorite parts of creating.

Little things that don't have to be there, but somehow make the day feel better when they are.

The kind of piece that makes an ordinary day feel just a little more special.

At first glance, it's the floral focal that draws you in — handcrafted by my talented friend Ronda IndigoDesignsByRonda

Then, with a slight turn of the wrist, more details reveal themselves.

The kind of details that make a piece feel collected, personal, and one of a kind.

If you're like me, you stop and notice dragonflies and admire overgrown gardens.

You're drawn to winding paths, flower stalls at the farmer's market, and those unexpected little details that make something feel special.

This bracelet reminds me of a hidden garden.

At its center, created by the talented Annie , is a tiny hidden garden of soft greens, peachy blooms, touches of pink, hints of teal, and tiny dragonflies waiting to be discovered. The kind of detail you might not notice at first glance, but once you do, you can't help but look a little closer.

Surrounding it are shades of green garnet, warm apricot silverite, touches of deep red garnet, and copper accents that feel as though they found their way together naturally.

Not perfectly matched. Just perfectly at home together.

The dragonflies. The wildflower colors. The unexpected elements finding their place beside one another.

These words felt especially fitting as I was finishing this bracelet:

"I think everything in life is art. What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams..."

The part that stayed with me most was this:

Life is art.

Maybe that's why I've never been drawn to things that are perfectly matched.

I like pieces with a little history in them. Pieces that feel collected rather than coordinated. The kind that look as though they found their way together over time.

This bracelet began with a romantic crowned heart focal, crafted by Ronda , and grew from there.

Soft blush, dusty rose, vintage mauve, hints of burgundy, touches of fossil jasper, rose quartz, brass, and an assortment of Czech glass beads in different shapes and sizes.

None of it should match perfectly.

That's what makes it interesting.

If you're like me, you're drawn to things that shouldn't work together, but somehow do. Different textures. Different colors. Different stories.

Much like life itself.

I can picture this bracelet with a pink sundress on a summer evening, a white tee and shorts on a Saturday afternoon, or paired with a turtleneck and tailored slacks when the seasons change.

The kind of piece someone notices from across the room.

There are some things that never really go out of style.

A crisp white blouse.
A little black dress.
A strand of pearls.

Maybe it's because they don't need to prove anything. They simply work.

I've always loved the timeless elegance of pearls, but I also love the unexpected details that make a piece feel personal.

This necklace begins with creamy white freshwater pearls, each one carrying a bit of natural character. Between them, tiny flashes of fresh green peridot add a subtle surprise. The kind of detail you might not notice at first glance, but can't stop noticing once you do.

Wear it with the clasp in the back and it's a classic pearl necklace with an unexpected twist.

Move the clasp to the front, add the glossy green ceramic heart, and suddenly the story changes.

A little more playful.
A little more artistic.
A little more you.

I can picture it with a black dress at a summer wedding, a crisp white blouse for lunch with friends, or a white tank, linen capris, and sandals on a sunny afternoon spent wandering through shops and farmers markets.
