My very favorite piece of art at Petit Palais. Tower of Babel shows a little boy sitting on a giant stack of books with his face out into the wild world. This is what books do, open a child's mind to the vast world, in all its wonders and complexities. The artist is known as Seth, so I call the little boy Seth. I visit Seth whenever I'm in Paris. I stand in wonder, too.

Bonjour friends, while at market, I found this beautiful stitchery made by Carla Valerie Steen in 1979. Look at the details and colors. This piece is so artfully crafted. I found her obituary. She was born in 1955 and passed away in 2025 in Glouceter, England. How did her stitchery end up at Porte du Vanves market in Paris? It makes me wonder about so many things.
