My Louisiana Spinning Fiber Sample Box has a new package! The six fiber samples are the same, but they’re now packed in a sturdier shipping box with a hinged lid. The inside of the lid features a labeled “map” to identify each fiber, similar to the guide inside a box of chocolates.

Each box contains six Louisiana-grown spinning fibers:

* Romney wool
* White Gulf Coast Native wool
* Black Gulf Coast Native wool
* Acadian Brown Cotton
* White mohair
* Chestnut Angora

The new box is more durable for shipping and also reduces the cost of shipping the sample set.

A convenient way to try a variety of Louisiana-grown fibers in one box!

What if you could make a sheepskin-style rug… without losing the sheep?

These are some of the rarest fibers I offer: slightly felted Gulf Coast Native sheep fleeces grown right here in Louisiana.

I only have five available this year, and I can’t predict when I’ll have more.

Because these fleeces are slightly felted, they are perfect for wet felting into beautiful fleece rugs. They have the look and feel of a traditional sheepskin rug, but they are made from shorn wool, not skin. You could say they're "vegetarian."

These are a wonderful choice for fiber artists who love natural materials, sustainable crafts, and projects that celebrate the animal behind the fiber.

Once these five are gone, it will be at least a year before more become available.
