I never thought chickens all over the yard would give me so much joy.

Check out these boys!! They were sheared on sunday and look like a whole new crew! Also, the shearer thinks they may not be Babydolls, but rather Southdowns. Regardless, they get to live here :) their wool is soo soft! Any ideas what I could do with it??

You may have seen these guys in the background of some of our photos and I'm happy to share (fingers crossed) that their makeover day is coming soon!! We recieved 3 Babydoll wethers from a family in northern wisconsin, who drove them all the way to our house without asking a penny for a chance at a different life. The challenge both the previous owner and I have shared: finding someone to shear sheep! Even though Babydolls get sheared just one time a year, and usually in the spring, it is crucial for their health and comfort to finish the shear this fall. Finding someone to clean these boys up has been difficult to say the least. Only by meeting a wonderful neighbor after I randomly appeared on her door step saying "I see you have sheep, maybe you can help me" is how these guys will get their makeover. We have been delayed by rain a few times but their shear should happen this weekend and I can't wait to share their after pictures.
