Embellish, by Misti I dabble in design. I can work on a project through planning, construction, furnishing and filling the space. I was the lead designer for the St.

My specialty is designing kitchen spaces, and closets. Getting the most out of an area can be simple with proper planning ahead and organization. I’ve found that creative and functional organization is my niche, and where my talents shine best. Most of my experience has come from remodeling jobs and working with an architect to re-create floor plans that are more open and flow well through the home. Jude Dream Homes from 2011-2015 in Monroe, Louisiana. I have since worked on complete custom builds, renovations, and numerous master bedroom closets. I took a little break from 2016-2022 to renter the political, and corporate world. I worked for the La State Attorney General, and for a local hospital as an outreach representative and marketer. Recently, empty nest has found me pondering what’s most important in life, and has brought me back to design. I will be adding some pics of my recent projects, and carry anyone interested along my journey back into design. Thanks for the follow. I’m glad to be back!

Why do I love antiques? Because you can't get to Narnia through an Ikea cabinet.

Pro tip to help communicate with your contractors.
Things are about to start moving quickly.

Painters start on Monday.
I have made a set of plans per room that include QR codes for all appliance, plumbing and light fixtures.

This will insure that when installation begins, all fixtures are placed correctly and installers can pull up the specs if they have any questions.

I’m doing this remodel while living 45 minutes away and working.
Clear and concise communication with my contractor and subs is truly a recipe for success.

QR codes were created by using a free app and printed on Avery 6570 labels.

Once paint is finalized, I will do a spreadsheet per room with all colors and finishes. 😉 stay tuned!

The fun has begun!
Remodels can be slow on the upstart. We added all new Sheetrock, electrical, blown-insulation and some new plumbing lines. Y’all… it’s been constant, but a slow process. But… the end gets nearer every day.

Cabinets will be wrapping up this week, then the painting begins.
🎉
We are choosing colors now.

Here is a great article about the need for trades. If you have DJ e any home building lately, you have seen the shortage of skilled labor.
I’m seeing the shortages in healthcare and service industries as well.
Every college student is heading straight to med school or plans to go beyond their undergrad.
All the while, the undergrad jobs have a high demand and short supply.
If you had any Econ class, that will tell you that demand is driving those wages up.
Know your market and plan accordingly.

The higher-education industry is having a bad decade.

We are coming along!!!!
It may not look like much, but the new windows and front doors are in!
All electrical and duct work are installed and we are getting dangerously close to installing sheetrock.
Progress should start to speed up a bit.
