“Infinite Frameworks” 36x48 Mixed Media

This composition juxtaposes structured geometric forms with expansive, textured backgrounds. The background, features rich layering reminiscent of cosmic dust, celestial clouds, or the surface of buildings of the past. Flecks of gold catch the light, evoking the infinite vastness of the universe.
In stark contrast, the foreground features bold, saturated geometric shapes. These precise forms, reminiscent of architectural structures, ground the composition.

“Celestial Constructs” 36x48
Mixed Media

A striking contrast between structured geometric forms and freeform, richly textured backgrounds. Neutral tones with gold flecks evoke the vastness of the universe, while bold, saturated shapes in the foreground symbolize architectural solidity amidst the infinite.

“Ascending 3” Mixed Media 24x48”
This is panel 3 of a series that I am working on. My intention is to have three back pieces and three die-cut panels in front of them with lights in between. The panels will ascend up the staircase. I thought I would show this without the front panel which will arrive next week.

Want to know the why? Please take a look and have your own impression first. I have always had an interest in the history of cultures and civilizations. I am especially inspired when I go abroad. So I will never have a raw canvas. There has to be a history in my non-objective work. There has to be layering and revealing of parts of color and texture and so many things that really are appreciated when you see the actual pieces. (Much like the walls of Italy for instance). At the same time, there is a bit of a duality or call it times of conflict. There is the freeform gestural unexpected in stark contrast with the more disciplined, controlled and perhaps even architectural or mechanical elements. Yet the whole piece has to pull together with these very different approaches. DM for more details. The frame is included. They are displayed here as vertical but are meant to be rotated in a way that feels the most comfortable in the environment they are in. The one on the right is sold as of June 3. Left one is still available and until 6.11.24

Having exhibited my work recently, I was forced to dig a bit deeper and explain the process to people that aren’t familiar with me or my work, or for that matter, the process. I realized there are so many things that I find inherently within me from a lifetime of experiences. I didn’t think that it’s something that I needed to articulate. I always let the work speak for itself, no matter what the medium. This was a challenge for me that led to unexpected growth. While I’m a bit vulnerable in the process of creating and clearly vulnerable when work is on display, I’m given the choice to walk away. I chose not to. Why not let people in? It’s raw and there is agony that goes into it. There is triumph and agony again!
This is a turning point for me. While I do tend to post a few ovideos of the process on occasion, I realize now that I need to share. A bit of humility is good. You learn from it. Thank you 🤍
