On June 20th in the little town of Monterey, Tennessee you can attend the Watermelon Crawl Festival, which takes place right downtown for the sixth straight year and always makes for one of this area's most memorable summer events! Running from 10 AM to 3 PM on June 20, 2026, this free festival takes over several streets near East Depot Avenue and the local farmers market, turning the heart of town into a busy, fun-filled scene.
As you walk through, you’ll find more than 100 vendors set up from across the region, offering everything from handmade crafts and vintage pieces to clothing, candles, soaps, artwork, and garden items. There’s always something new to come across at every turn. One of the best parts is the free watermelon slices handed out while they last, giving everyone a cool, refreshing break in the summer heat.
Food trucks line the streets serving up fresh-squeezed lemonade, mini donuts, and other festival favorites, while live music plays throughout the day. The watermelon eating contest draws a big crowd, with both kids and adults jumping in for fun and a little friendly competition. With no cost to get in, easy parking, and a pet-friendly setup, it’s an easygoing way to spend a summer day in a small Tennessee town.
