One thing that helped me find a new way to cope when I stopped drinking was art. I am almost done with this series… and … it’s a very loose graffiti style done on purpose for a purpose.

Recovery can be messy and is inherently imperfect as a process. There is a path we follow and a door we must go through to face all the mental garbage about ourselves and others we have collected over our years of using. It can be crippling unless we find another outlet, another community, another space we can go “all in on” that’s healthy.

I found help, I created personal systems, I am very stubborn by nature and used it to my sobriety advantage, I learned to rely on God, my higher power, instead of booze, I found a sober community… and I brought back to life an old love… the creation of Art. None of this would have been possible without God.
I told myself after every binge… I am never drinking again only to go light my world on fire a little more just a few days later. God came into my pit and pulled me out … I couldn’t do it on my own. So, when I was ready for change, He sent the people and circumstances and the rise in that stubborness to help me through.

I am sharing this because if you recognize any of this and want change… it’s there and it’s available. You can stop, get free and stay free.

There is hope and community out there.

Reach out to me here in messenger if you don’t know where to turn.
