Hey everyone! The note below is long, so if you don't want to take time to read it, here's the short version: Store Hours/Days are changing starting Monday, August 31. Mondays and Tuesdays are becoming productions days in the back of the shop and the store will be closed. Wednesdays - Fridays, we'll be open regular hours 10am - 5pm for whatever you need - bringing in work to design framing, picking up completed work, or shopping our retail section and gallery space. As always, I'm open to special appointment times to make it more convenient for you if normal hours/days don't work!

I apologize for any delays in getting work completed or being there for you to drop off. But, I’m excited to say that I’m making a run to pick up some new to me fixtures that will allow me to display even more gorgeous mouldings for designing your framing projects! I’ll be back in the shop on Tuesday.

Happy Juneteenth!!
I am open today because I have too much work to catch up on to take the day off. Thank you all for that blessing!

Here’s a few historical facts around the celebration of Juneteenth….
• Emancipation Proclamation was signed and went into effect at midnight January 1, 1863.
• Official surrender of the Confederacy April 9, 1865
• Slavery continued in outlying areas, especially Texas, which was the westernmost point of the Confederate stronghold
• June 19, 1865 - arrival of over 2000 Union troops in Galveston Bay and the reading of General Order Number 3 “ The people of Texas are informed that, in accordance with a proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free. This involves an absolute equality of personal rights and rights of property between former masters and slaves, and the connection heretofore existing between them becomes that between employer and hired labor.”
• This was not just a peaceful proclamation-this was an armed enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation signed two years earlier.
• The 13th Amendment was ratified in December 1865
• It wasn’t until August 1866 that President Andrew Johnson formally declared the conflict over
