What is majolica? It’s earthenware that features intricate designs and vibrant colors and it dates back to the 15th century. These highly collectible pieces add such a fun touch to your home. If you see something you like, you better grab it because they sell quickly. Bordalla cabbage ware is one of the more popular examples of majolica produced today. Most of the pieces that I’ve featured in this post are either pieces from my personal collection or family pieces. I have 2 or 3 pieces in my booth (pink cabbage bowls & shell cup), but be sure to check other booths at Front Porch. The planter with dragonflies was one I purchased at Front Porch a few months ago.

Added a few more things late yesterday to fill in where items had been purchased by my wonderful customers! It’s a great day to shop downtown Troy. Have a coffee or lunch at the Uwharrie Mercantile. Their chicken salad and chai latte are worth the visit.

Sometimes you decide to keep your thrift/auction finds and these are two that came home from the booth this weekend. It’s finally porch weather and I’m in love with the side table and wicker plant stand. The antique Robinson Ransbottom stoneware crock (fern planter) was a great find too. I did a little basement shopping at my mom’s this weekend and found it. It’s the perfect porch planter. As my husband says you’re in the “selling business, not keeping business”, but every now and then you need to keep!
