"✅ Saved these vintage stereo cabinet doors after the original glass panels were destroyed in a move!
I fabricated brand-new tempered safety glass panels from scratch: cut to exact size, polished the edges with a clean 45° bevel to remove sharp points, and carefully drilled slightly oversized holes for the hardware.
For the magnetic catch brackets, I cut high-quality double-sided foam tape to size, sprayed the adhesive with glass cleaner as a temporary lubricant, slid the brackets into perfect position while wet, and let it dry for a rock-solid, sag-free hold that should last for years. For the wooden-handled pulls, I added O-rings on the screws to protect the glass edges and prevent over-tightening.
The doors came back together perfectly — looking sharp with modern durability while keeping all the original vintage hardware intact.
Before-and-after restoration magic! Which step impresses you most? Have an old cabinet, stereo, or furniture project where the glass got damaged or lost? Drop a comment or message me — happy to help bring it back to life.
