This is the story of an antique foot stool. It belonged to my 75 year old clients grandmother. To say it was wobbly would be an understatement. I removed all of the tacks holding the upholstery on and found a delightful treasure. The client was surprised and thrilled to see the original upholstery. (She decided to keep it as an art piece.) After labeling each piece, and taking it all apart, I cleaned off the old glue. I was then able to glue it all up, *unsuccessfully* clamp it, pivot to use a rubber tire wrapped around and secured with a clamp. I filed all of the old tack holes with a wood fill and sanded. Then I repaired the broken legs and stained the wood. Finally I put the fabric back on, trimmed and sealed the edges.
This antique can now be loved and enjoyed for another century.

Part of regluing loose and wobbly chairs is removing the old glue. One way to do that is using a forstner bit to scrape out the old glue. Then you can apply new wood glue and clamp.

What's on the table today? This bar stool was wrecked. The customer tried their best to repair it with several L brackets and covered it with tape. Step 1 is removing all of the tape, hardware and adhesive. Step 2, I installed a new dowel and applied wood bondo (epoxy). After that dried I sanded and moved onto step 3, adding in wood fill to any cosmetic gaps, like the screw holes.

Stay tuned for the next steps!

This side table was damaged in a move, and the corner was destroyed. So I added some wood epoxy, sanded, and scupted it to match the existing details. Then, I applied paint and added grain lines. Now, the table looks great and the damage is hidden!
