Meet the maker + a name change!

Hi, I’m Alysha :) I’m 28 years old and from Central Michigan. I’m a dog mom to Benji, a bird mom to Lumi, and a plant mom to my 70+ houseplants 🪴 I love being at home, video games, the color pink, and chicken alfredo. 😍

I taught myself to crochet when I was a teenager but only made hats and a few blankets. After a few years of not crocheting at all, I randomly decided to try amigurumi and well now here we are! I absolutely love it! 💕

Now for the name change! I was previously just “Alysha Crochets” but knew I didn’t want to keep that long term. I spent a long time brainstorming and decided on Bright Star Crochet. “Bright Star” comes from my Native American name, Waaseyaa Anang Ikwe, which translates to Bright Star Woman. I thought it was a great way to subtly have a small piece of my culture in my business 🫶🏼

Pretty soon I will be launching an Etsy shop, so keep your eye out for that! ☺️
