Old Things Anew Specializing in restoring antique furniture and custom re-purposing old antique pump organs & pianos Retired military veteran enjoying woodworking as a hobby.

My primary interest is in restoring old antique wooden furniture and repurposing old inoperable antique pump organs into functional furniture for today's families and businesses. My goal is to rescue and save as many of these old American treasures as possible from being hauled into our landfills today. Feel free to ask me questions concerning antique furniture restoration and repurposing.

I recently repurposed an old antique non-working solid walnut wood pump organ into a beautiful fully functioning 1500 watt remote controlled fireplace furniture piece. I was able to incorporate the original ivory keys, pull stops, and metal foot pedals back into the piece with added remote control LED strip lighting and a walnut table top for displaying personal items of interest. Completely refinished with Rubio Monocoat Oil 2-part satin hard wax coat finish. A fun project that I hope will save this treasured piece for another century of use.
