The Decorating Store at Terminal Mill Ends

The Decorating Store at Terminal Mill Ends We provide Window Treatments, Reupholstery and Refinishing, Slipcovers and Cushions, Blinds, Shades, Ours is a true love story about family and fabric.

In 1949, Len (known to all as "Alex") and Greta Alexander began selling the "ends," or remnants, of large bolts of home textile fabrics and dress goods procured through their brother-in-law via a shipping terminal in Paterson, NJ. They opened their own business, Terminal Mill Ends, in the "country" - then "faraway" Union. Their daughter Nina joined them in 1978 and established a focus on interior

design. Today, we are the Decorating Store at Terminal Mill Ends - a nod to the past in our name, with eyes solidly on the future. Under the leadership of Nina's husband, Ernie Spinelli, the location moved to Mountainside with a fresh look and expanded offerings in home décor - furniture, carpet, rugs and accessories. But the legacy of the Alexander family remains - the warmth and helpful atmosphere created all those years ago. Family and fabric - still together after all these years!

All custom, all the time--from the style to the way it lands on the floor.

We showed this customer a thick, chunky open weave fabric that we'd been dying to use--and that they loved. To add some color, we banded the bottom with a shiny blue fabric to serve as contrast and, as per our customer's request, allowed it to puddle a bit on the floor.

Loving how this one came out ❤️

Oh what a difference draperies can make.

This customer wanted full coverage—high up and wall-to-wall. These simple but elegant Graber Blinds draperies with Kirsch hardware bring the room together without being the focal point.

We love a good challenge.

This hand-woven KUFRI fabric came off the bolt on a diagonal—so we had to re-think the way we wanted to make this cushion.

The solution? Make the whole thing one piece, with Velcro on the bottom so it doesn’t shift when people sit on it.

Always a pleasure working with Nureed Saeed

This customer wanted cellular shades without giving up style or the ability to keep the room dark when needed.

Our solution? A classically beautiful shaped cornice with blackout draperies underneath. Swipe for a closer look at the Fabricut trim (they also did the dancing the drapery)

Forget decorating—we want to cook in THIS kitchen!

The owner of this historic home wanted privacy and a touch of softness. We went with a rich, quiet linen fabric from Romo, Fabrics & Wallcoverings, finished with a subtle but elegant trim from Houlès (swipe👉 to see it in closer detail).

Adds the perfect counterbalance to the hard surfaces of this already wonderful kitchen.
