They're bringing back their artisan loaves, sliced sandwich bread, English muffins, and focaccia. We know you've been asking!

🔥 Fincke Farm HAS A NEW OVEN!
And they're putting it to work with fresh sourdough artisan loaves on Wednesday and sourdough pastries Friday.

🍞 Flour Child NTX IS BACK!
And they're bringing the gluten-free goodness, now with a NEW MIXER. Gluten-free friends, we see you!

🌅 Sky’s Sourdough IS BACK SATURDAY MORNINGS!
The last couple of Saturday mornings have been a little rough in the bread department... but we've got you covered again! Start your Saturday with fresh artisan sourdough.

This August, ROOTED is staying open until 7 PM because we believe every community deserves a place to gather.

A place for students to study.
A place for tutors to meet.
A place to finish a chapter.
A place to answer emails.
A place to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee after work.

Our hope is simple: to create more opportunities for our community to slow down, connect, and support the local businesses that make East Texas special.

I actually like this second version better because it sells a feeling, not just your hours. You're not extending business hours—you’re inviting people to make ROOTED part of their daily rhythm.

August is the month we question everything.

13 summers selling at farmers markets. 8 summers as The Farmer's Garden. 5 summers since Brandon quit his job to do this full time.

All that experience sounds like enough for us to know how to brace for August.

It's not.

August is the month the Indeed job alerts start to look really tempting. August is the month we look around at purchased produce, shipped in from who knows where, being sold at market and it makes us spitting mad. August is the month the weeds laugh maniacally at us. August is the month the electric bill looks more like a congressional "budget" than it should considering it's still 85° in the house. August is the month we want to throw in the towel.

We expect January to be hard. We know February will be scarce. But August, with it's heat and stress, is the real test of our faith.

Did God really call us to do this? Are we supposed to barely survive forever? Is it time to admit the critics were right and you really "can't make money in agriculture"?!

I can't answer any of those questions tonight.

If I'm being 100% honest and vulnerable, I don't know if I even want to do this right now. I don't know if I want to watch stress and anxiety take it's toll on Brandon. (We won't talk about what it does to me either.) I don't know if I want kids with "strong work ethic" instead of a high score on an imaginary game somewhere. I don't know if I want any of it.

The only thing keeping me going tonight is the fear of failure. I have no intention of letting the critics be right.

Is that a good enough reason to move forward?

No.

But it's all I've got today, so we'll just have to take it and forge ahead - one single day at a time.
