Folks my shop of 40 years will be closing at the end of July. My shop is having an extraordinary half price sale on many items … please come in and take advantage of this once in my lifetime opportunity … it’s sad for me and also rewarding to see items find new homes and be appreciated … so many high end items also. The shop is full of antiques, collectibles, quilts from the 1940’s back to the 1830’s typically, items made from old quilts and coverlets etc. that are beyond repair or restoration... primitives etc.

Just participated in the Misty Mountain quilt show in Blairsville Georgia... just two pictures of my booth... was a very good show with my all hand quilted quilts along with all of the shows machined quilted quilts ... apples versus oranges... don’t even try to compare these different styles... as I’ve said for years, I’m stuck in the mud/past with my almost 35 years of my antique business dealing with the intricate piecing and quilting of the 1940’s back to the 1820’s, the age of quilts that I deal with ... my studies and knowledge and appraising of these years of quilts is forever my favorite part of my antique business... my “show and tell” times in my shop. Customers coming back to Murphy, North Carolina with their quilts to share with me...it might be months when they return...are always welcomed.

Hello folks in the Murphy, NC area... take a moment and enjoy our wonderful little downtown. We have several antique and collectible shops and great eateries, plus so much more.

My quilts are from 1940’s back to 1820’s, along with woven coverlets from 1820-typically 1860.

I also make many items from antique discarded and partially ruined textiles: doggies, kitties, owls, horses, pigs, lambs and bears plus wall hangings, table runners and pillows... plus Christmas stockings, trees, stars... anything I can save from an old quilt... please know that I wash everything before it is reproduced into something else.

Please come see our wonderful and charming town.

Even after over 34 years of (show and tell) experience, learning and listening to my customers, I continue to be excited about the next quilt, coverlet, quilt top and all other textiles that I see. I receive many pictures for information on age, patterns and how to continue to care for antique textiles... so much to know and so easy to be the most responsible textile owner. the antique items were not of course mass produced ... each one is one of a kind . Please “show and tell” with me as my knowledge is vast and it is always gratis . I too receive the “gift” when you present your items at any time in my shop to receive information from me: care, value, pattern, age and value... always my professional pleasure .
