Nanowrimo ( national novel writers month) issued sort of a challenge...write a drabble regularly. What's a drabble? A work of fiction of exactly 100 words. So, here's my first drabble.

It was Terry’s last day. Her escape hours away. Just. One. More. Client. The door slammed as Char, the salon owner’s sister stormed in, barking orders towards Terry’s station like an angry Chihuahua. “The shampoo must be heated to 92 degrees” “Add more sand tones to my color. I swear you can’t read labels!” Her voice escalating with each order. Terry froze at the dye mixer, contemplating choices that, prior to having Char as a client, would never have entered her head. How could she have known the tube of hair removal cream would malfunction right into Sand color 103?

This page has rested dormant for quite some time. When we made the painful decision to close the store due to distance and other work commitments, I left it waiting for a new direction closer to home. Do I have the new direction? No, but am exploring some things. Stay tuned. Until then, my "drabble" posts will appear now and then.
