Sixteen years ago today, I hit "post" to announce the Grand Opening of Feather Your Nest Interiors. I had no idea where that journey would take me, the people I would meet, or the homes and businesses I would have the privilege of helping transform.
Today, as we begin our 17th year, I'm sharing another big milestone.
This wasn't an easy decision, but after a lot of thought (and more than a few sleepless nights), I've decided to close my showroom at 106 E. 2nd Street, effective immediately.
The truth is, business has changed. And instead of holding onto what worked in the past, I'm choosing to embrace what makes the most sense for the future.
Going forward, I'll be focusing exclusively on in-home and virtual design consultations. This allows me to spend more time doing what I love most—working alongside my clients in their own spaces, creating homes and businesses that reflect who they are. I'm genuinely excited about the opportunity to offer a more personal, hands-on design experience.
My phone number, email, and website aren't changing, so I'm still just a call, text, or message away.
And before you start wondering about my beautiful downtown building...
Don't worry—it's getting an exciting new chapter, too! I'm thrilled to share that the space has been rented to another wonderful Muscatine small business owner. I can't wait for you to see what they have planned, and I'm so happy the building will continue to be filled with creativity and community.
To every client, friend, family member, and supporter over the last 17 years—thank you. You've trusted me with your homes, businesses, and your stories, and that's something I'll never take for granted.
Here's to new beginnings, fresh ideas, and the next chapter of Feather Your Nest Interiors.
With gratitude,
Alyshea
