🥢Got a last minute reservation to last night and understand what the hype is about!

I had the Nine Course Omakase had the most inventive meal of my life!

I tasted things I have never tried before like Goose Barnacle (who knew they edible), Duck Tongue (sounds weird but they were delicious), and Blowfish 🐡 Tails.

The staff are also charming and attentive.

I hope you are paying attention!

Happy International Women’s Day!

Today, I celebrate the many brave & adventurous women out there like my mom and my mother in law.

In the 1969 and 1970, respectively, these ladies and moved to U.S. to help fill the need for healthcare workers. My mother had never even travelled outside her homeland before!

Within months both were working nurses.

Just amazing!

🌅 Sunset Dinner Strand Beach.

South Africa is currently experiencing an electricity shortage so loadshedding is in effect. The electricity goes off in different areas for 4 hours at a time.

Our restaurant had a generator but it ran out so the last 30 minutes of our meal was in partial darkness. The other patrons didn’t seem fazed at all.

Btw, the Lord Charles Hotel is a perfect launch pad for day trips to Stellenbosch town and beautiful wine farms galore

The MFA did a great job of juxtaposing Dali’s art with that of this predecessors (inspo).
