A fresh coat of paint doesn’t always mean a dramatic color change. Sometimes it’s about protecting your home, cleaning things up, and giving it that fresh, well cared for look again.

We originally met these homeowners on a snowy February day here in Idaho to look at their exterior painting project. They already loved the existing color palette of their home, so instead of changing everything up, we did a full color match refresh using Benjamin Moore "Elk Horn" on the body with crisp Sherwin-Williams "Natural Choice" for the trim.

One thing a lot of homeowners don’t realize is how early exterior painting schedules start filling up in the Treasure Valley. At Spray ’n Coat Painting, we regularly have customers scheduling estimates in late fall and winter so they can lock in their spot before the busy exterior season hits.

Talk about a glow up!

This entry door started out as a faded, weather worn black finish that had lost a lot of its richness from years of Idaho sun and exposure. After a full prep and professional spray finish, the homeowners went with a soft earthy green that completely changed the feel of the front entry.

It’s a good reminder that sometimes you don’t need a full exterior repaint to make your home feel updated again. A front door color change can add personality, warmth, and curb appeal without a massive project.

There’s a lot more that goes into a long lasting outdoor concrete coating than just rolling on a new layer of paint. At the Silverstone Building in Meridian, our crew is grinding off the existing failing coating system at the main entrances to properly prep nearly 3,500 sq/ft of concrete before the new system goes down.

For this project with The Sundance Company, we’re installing a commercial grade two component coating system designed for heavy foot traffic, weather exposure, and easier maintenance. The system combines the bonding strength of a water based epoxy primer with a durable acrylic topcoat, all customized with a traction additive to help improve slip resistance around these high traffic entry areas.

One thing we talk about a lot at Spray ’n Coat Painting is that prep work matters. Concrete coatings are only as good as the surface underneath them. That’s why we mechanically grind the concrete to remove failing coatings, open the concrete's pores, and create the proper profile for long term adhesion.

Is it time to repaint your home’s exterior? Projects like this are a pretty good reminder of how much color alone can completely change the look and feel of a house.

This Meridian home went from a faded gray color palette to a rich blue exterior, and the difference speaks for itself. The crisp white trim and black vent and corbel accents really helped bring out the home’s architecture and give it a cleaner, more updated look without changing anything structurally.

We used Benjamin Moore Exterior Satin for this project
• Grays Harbor on the main body for the deep rich blue tone
• Storm Cloud on the shaker accents to add depth and contrast
• Pure White on the trim and fascia for a clean crisp finish
• Tricorn Black on the vents and corbels to help tie all the darker accents together

A fresh exterior paint job doesn’t just improve curb appeal either. It also helps protect your siding and trim from Idaho’s sun, weather, and moisture over the years.
