Slowing down the process to spend a little more time with the details that we love.

At Colonial Goes Contemporary, the hardware and finish palette gave us another opportunity to balance the home’s classic foundation with contemporary warmth. Once installed, these details quietly settle into the home, but throughout the design process, they receive our full attention. They may not become the focal point, but their presence is felt in the way the home is experienced every day.

One of the many details in interior design that we can’t get enough of is a beautiful window treatment. Lately, we’ve been sourcing and designing styles that feel classic yet just beyond the expected: woven borders, chic café curtains, tailored valances, and layers upon layers. The best window treatments feel less like an accessory and more like an extension of the architecture, as essential to a space as the moldings, millwork, or ceiling details.

Studio updates. 🤎

Our newest furnishings project is officially underway, with every piece now ordered and painting set to begin at the end of this month. Our studio is coming together, with paint complete, window signage being installed, and furnishings arriving to shape the space we’ve envisioned for so long!

Across our active renovation projects, we’ve been deep into sourcing while finalizing the last paint and stain selections for our Colonial Goes Contemporary renovation. Much of the design has centered around a beautiful sloped ceiling that will be clad in v-groove, a detail that has quietly influenced many of the decisions throughout the home.

We’ll keep sharing glimpses from the studio as these homes, and our new space, continue to come together layer by layer.
