There’s something pretty incredible about closing out August knowing that 95 years ago this month, Fortin Gage was just beginning.
August 1931.
Think about how much has changed since then.
How many weddings have happened. How many babies have been born. How many anniversaries have been celebrated. How many people have walked through our doors needing flowers for someone they loved.
And maybe my favorite thing about owning a 95-year-old business is realizing that so many of you have a piece of its history.
Some of you remember coming here with your mothers or grandmothers.
Some of you carried Fortin Gage flowers at your wedding.
Maybe we made your prom corsage. Maybe your husband surprised you with flowers from here. Maybe you remember one of our former employees or one of our old locations.
And some of you may have been customers here long before I was even born. ❤️
I get to be the owner of Fortin Gage right now, but this business has never belonged to just one person. 95 years of this only happens because a community keeps showing up.
So before August ends, I want to do something a little different.
Tell me your Fortin Gage story. 🌸
And if you have an old photo — a wedding bouquet, prom flowers, an arrangement, the shop years ago, anything — PLEASE put it in the comments. I would absolutely love to see them.
Let’s see how far back we can go. ❤️
