I saw this on Tumblr today, and thought I'd share for the Art Nouveau lurkers among us. Caveat, this is NOT in the shop - we love our Appalachian primitives - but how cool! Any baby in this cradle would feel enchanted. "Jacob and Josef Kohn, Cradle, 1875-1899. Bentwood. Vienna, Austria. J and J Kohn offered several designs of cradles; this is number 1571, perhaps the most extreme example in Art Nouveau style."

I rescued this American primitive painting from a Georgia antique shop back in the late 80s. We took it out of the broken frame today and I think it might be a painting of a Virginia toll gate - the back shows the painting board came from Washington D.C. It's a prettier scene than most toll road stops I could find, and it was painted by J.A.B in 1896, the same year the Little River Toll Road went from private to public/free. Look for it in a new beautiful frame in our booth next week! It's a big one.

Poplar board on side is 20” wide!
Purchased from dealer & collector Karen Martin (Cleveland, GA) in 2012.
Originally found near Ellijay, GA
Long drawer pulls out and has never had pulls on it.
Desirable blue/green original paint
