Earth Month, Day 12: Our daily pouring and To Do lists are usually written on the backs of junk mail or misprints.

Not fancy…but very effective. And it keeps a little more paper out of the trash.

Earth Month, Day 11: You won’t find many paper towels in our shop (but we’re not going to pretend we don’t use them at all).

We save them for pouring, where they’re the most necessary, and we use as few as possible.

For just about everything else, we use washable cloths:
• drying our hands after washing
• cleaning drips of wax off finished candles
• general cleaning around the shop

It cuts down on waste in a really meaningful way, without making our lives harder.

Plus, most of our washcloths are hand-me-downs or thrifted, rather than new!

Earth Month, Day 10: One of the underrated benefits of soy wax is how easy it is to clean up.

Because it’s water-soluble, it comes out of towels, aprons, and containers without a fight—and without needing harsh chemicals.

Earth Month, Day 9: If you've ever ordered online from us, your order likely included some packing peanuts. Great news - they’re made from corn and they’re biodegradable!

Even more great news - we reuse the packing peanuts that are shipped to us with our supplies, so they get at least two chances to do their job before breaking down!
