I swore I wouldn’t do it again, but here we are, getting ready for RV renovation #3!

A little bit about this project; no floor redo, no building…anything, a quick in and out paint job and some peel and stick to prove that anyone, on any budget, can have great design. This remodel needed stages financially and still a big refresh to turn it from factory to fabulous. So we walked through each inch with our client weighing what could wait and what to save. This camper’s goal is $2,500 out the gate.

Follow along to learn how together we made that work and which direction they decided to go!

This RV kitchen and dining update consisted of removing “two” mirrored backsplashes and covering the mirrored cabinets in this amazing, textured, peel and stick rattan which we used in multiple places.
I understand using mirrors to make the space appear larger, but color and pattern play can do the same thing!

We painted this entire space Navajo White and added all the clients favorite colors with another round of peel and stick wallpaper from . We changed the faucet and hardware and updated the backsplash in the kitchen with a real stone peel and stick tile.

The biggest change in this rig was the vinyl plank floor. That and the fireplace we added to the existing televator. We re-covered the front valances and added new chairs, shades and a storage friendly coffee table.
The largest expense was the new couch the client ordered to replace the slippery, uncomfortable leather one.

Lastly I want to mention lighting; light temperature and wattage play such a huge part in how we see color and feel in spaces. After a ton of trial and error, it’s evident to see how much swapping out a few bulbs can shift the look of a space! In an RV especially, that pretty important.

“There’s not one thing I don’t love!”

That’s what the client said after a few days living in their newly renovated camper. What a compliment and an honor to redesign their home on wheels!

Another look at our recent RV renovation…

The tile in this half bath wasn’t on the agenda to take down, so instead we worked with it by matching a paint color to compliment.
Again we took down the valance and wallpaper boarder, then went to work changing out the fixture and hardware.
Here’s your first glance at the floor and just how different it made the entire RV feel!

These before and after pics really help remind me of just how much goes in to making these campers tiny homes for my clients.

Small changes, big impact! That’s what happened in this RV bedroom.

We started by removing the valance, old headboard and mirror backing. Next, we took all the fabric off the slide out trim and reworked it to mirror the same pattern, but with paint and stain to compliment the dresser. The dresser was the icing on this cake! It brought separation to the space and really helped break up the wood while feeling like a furniture piece.

The winner was the wallpaper! After removing the existing boarder, we trusted once again for a unique design. Its geometric shape and muted neutral color added the pop of fun that makes it feel like home. We changed all the hardware and painted the hinges and bed lights to match. New shades and linen made the room feel fresh!
There isn’t an RV remodel I would do without a . It’s the perfect paring to this space and the style gives our client all kinds of pillow and blanket color combos to compliment the seasons.
A faucet facelift finished off this corner and really added style to the back half of this Class A.

A walk through tour is coming. Till then, stayed tuned as we continue to share the before and after images.

We finished our last renovation project two weeks ago and then life happened. Things have settled back down and as we work to bring you the before and afters, here are a few sneak peeks of this 20 year old RV now living it’s best life as a full time “home” on wheels.

If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you’ve had a sneak peak of a few of these elements for our current remodel.

Taking this 2003 Newmar Kountry Star RV through a small upgrade has included new vinyl plank floors, new antique bronze hardware and faucets, a contemporary backsplash and a new collection of warm tones in paint and wallpaper to accent the existing cabinets.

We are thrilled with how it’s all coming together, but it hasn’t been without a few bumps and snags along the way. We’ve already made a couple slight changes and can’t wait to show you the finished project.

Keep following along as we plan to wrap this one up in the next four weeks!

This before and after brought to you by the simple fact that I miss moving furniture around.

Our last two renovations have been RVs; not a ton of floor space to explore in those.

In this foyer space we used the clients existing table and changed the wall placement. Next we painted the stairwell wall and then added a mirror to make the hallway feel bigger and reflect the color.
You’ll never believe where we got this mirror from and it was a perfect price! The Home Depot

We added a few gallery style frames with one of our all time favorite decor finds; a cordless, rechargeable, LED picture light. Last we styled the table with some height and interest.

Small changes can create big impact and that’s one of the many thing we love most… helping our clients see and tackle one small change at a time.

As we start on our next RV project we wanted to take a moment and reflect on our last renovation.
Taking this toy-hauler kitchen from factory to functional involved removing the microwave and giving our clients more storage. We also added two shelves above the slide to aid in storage as well. We redid the entire backsplash with a PVC peel and stick to help add glam without the weight. We replaced all the hardware and faucet, while also simplifying the trim around the slide out. The light fixtures we hung are aluminum, not glass for traveling. For extra counter space we added a pop up cutting board to the end of the island.
We are thrilled with how it turned out and can’t wait to show you more!

During this season we have done more virtual clients than physical houses. Honestly it’s worked out beautifully as busy as we’ve been.

This client already had a few pieces and needed a few mood boards with specific options. She also needed it fast. We were able to turn out three designs for her teenage daughter and send her down the road with links and guidance.
I don’t have a before or after, just some beautiful concepts that she ran with. If you’re visual, sometimes just having it all put together for you on one page is enough to give you the confidence you need to shop on your own.

If that’s you and fresh eyes on any space in your home feels like a win, we can tackle it virtually through the beauty of MarcoPolo or locally for a one hour session charge.

For those that don’t know, we took some time off to start our own project! We’ve been busy designing and redoing 7 acres of our own! You can find out more about that over but, more importantly… we are BACK TO WORK!

We’re going to spend the next few days catching you up on some virtual and local projects we have sprinkled in here and there over the last eight months before revealing the project that forced us to jump back in! Oh how we’ve missed redesigning homes!

Here is a before and after of a bachelor pad we tackled right before the holidays. This client wanted a whole house refresh and in the living space we achieved that by first painting his entertainment wall a beautiful dark gray. Then we added a hanging fireplace under the TV and turned his entertainment center into sideboard. We downsized the chair to add a lamp and side table, new pillows and a new rug with some deep earth tones for color. The wall shelf helped him house the nicknacks he had sitting randomly on his kitchen counter and adding greenery and a few details elevated the look in this gathering space.

We can’t wait to show you more rooms of this home! Stay tuned!

Couch in place, this client asked for storage and color. We can’t wait to show you the before and afters, but until then, soak in these handful of mood boards.
They are some of our favorites to date.

Color comes through paint and in this case…rugs! Our encouragement… have fun with them.

Here’s to this farmhouse feeling living space that stretches outside of the neutral zone.

This Thursday’s tip is to “PAINT IT BLACK”! Tricorn black to be exact.

I find more often than not people are afraid of black and the depth it can bring to a space. I’m here to say, “Don’t be!”. Black doesn’t always accompany white and can add great value to color and boost texture as well.

In this home, painting the ceiling black creates the illusion of height. It made the ceiling seemingly disappear while painting the fireplace created a statement and focal point for this large room.

Layout was also key to this space. Bringing the sectional center and off the wall created the flow for writing and for watching as well as defined walk ways and traffic flow for the home.
Hanging the guitars got them off the floor, out of harms way and makes for easy access and safe storage of these beautiful instruments. Not to mention turning them into instant wall art.

Side note: never underestimate the power of a good coffee table. This one from Ross was under $100 and the fact that it resembled a drum added to the not so subtle esthetic of this home.

Stay tuned for a whole house budget as we continue to share this Redesign!
