Today I’m reflecting back on this I made for a client’s kitchen remodel! They are currently in the demo phase of the project which is so exciting! (More photos to come!)

It can be so fun to begin the physical process of a new build or remodel if there is a solid plan in place, but it can be so daunting (not to mention extra costly) if some of the key puzzle pieces are yet to be determined!

The mood board is just of my offered deliverables; a collection of imagery based on the client’s needs, desires, tastes, and budget.

In addition to a mood board, full service design clients can expect:

🌟 2D to scale layout options, created with your priorities in mind

🏡 HOUSE LAYOUT! 🏡
I’m excited to share the most current plan for our house design. This is (obviously) just a 2D rendering of the space so the accuracy is not as dialed in as what we have drawn in (3D) but it’s been helpful in the process utilizing the tools from this program to play with ideas. I like working with software as it is easy to use and quick to drag objects around. When working with clients I like using this to draft up a quick vision after sketching the old fashioned way with pen and paper.

I’m home today feeling a little under the weather 🤕. Those allergies are hitting me! As I spend most of the day resting on the couch dreaming of color palettes and garden terrace ideas for our new home I’m grateful I can look up and see this lovely pine tongue-and-groove ceiling. Hoping 🤞 to install some wood ceilings into the new spot as well. What do you think of wood for ceilings? What other materials do you like to see up there?

Big changes happening on our land today as we begin the earth work process to grade the spot for our home. Visioning and creating our homestead definitely has me questioning how I can be a better steward and work to protect our sacred ecosystems. I’m having all the feelings about creating such a disturbance and am reminding myself that sometimes you need to make a little mess in the process of creating something new. We plan to mend the land as best we can; with plants and medicinal herbs and trees and new animal habitats and pollinator plants and ceremony and community joy and song. I am so grateful for what this land has already gifted us and I hope that we are/will/can give back even more in return.

✨Using natural objects as sacred home decor✨

One of my favorite things to do is find or create sacred items from natural objects and anchor them as decorative pieces in my space. They can be changed out depending on the season and whatever mood strikes you! It’s easy; even if you only have 15 minutes, take a short walk somewhere in nature (this can even be in your backyard) and find an item that draws your attention and that you find beautiful (*note here; if it’s actively growing, sit with the plant for a moment and see if it want’s to be harvested before doing so). Sometimes the plant or object itself is enough of a decorative piece on it’s own or you can embellish it with fabric, metals, candles..etc. For lightweight items, try hanging it with a nail or tack and for heavier objects a little floating shelf will do the trick. Allow your walls to become an ever-changing gallery to showcase the natural wonders of the world that bring you inspiration!

A little about me…!

My name is Avi (pronounced AH-VEE), creator of Wild Studio and sacred space designer. Through my combined experiences I have tended and honed a collection of skills that I find work better in combination rather than apart. With those skills, I strive to help clients connect to their own unique vision for their home to help transform their physical space into one where ease, play, & connection are more readily available.

I received a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in NYC where I learned my love of process work. After school I followed my bliss of being outside, working with my hands as a farmer, tending to plants & animals. For 5 years I worked at Eden Village Camp in New York’s Hudson Valley, running a farm apprenticeship program. I also worked with Plant the Seed for the last 4 years, a Nashville based, garden education non-profit. It was through these opportunities I began my deeper study of how to facilitate supportive experiences.

In 2018 love led me to Tennessee where my (now) husband, Andy, and I spent a year building a small cabin home. With that experience I was able to further practice my role as space designer. We are currently preparing to build our (next & more permanent) home this year! We’ve been steeped in the design process for the last year and I’m excited to put our ideas into physical form!

I’m yoga certified and have especially loved studying yoga in support of women’s health. I have enjoyed working with others in their practice as well as deepening my own.

I live in Ashland City, TN on a ridge-top, forested homestead with my husband and some dear friends. Collectively, we aim to learn and play through growing plants & building spaces for healthy and connected community. We bring our different traditions and merge them in creating new ceremonies and songs as we live and dance in reverence with the land.

I bring my whole self and background to my facilitated design approach, allowing for my love of the earth, art, whole-systems processes and celebration of each person’s unique creativity to guide the way.

💫 Who is Wild Studio for?
For those who are looking for supported and facilitated design guidance for their home or space remodel. I hope that the process itself is equally as inspiring and satisfying as the end result. I aim for you to feel supported through the whole experience, from the initial stages of big-picture visioning down to the nitty gritty details of layout creations, lighting, product sourcing…etc. YOU deserve your home to feel like a sanctuary of peace, joy, and ease.
