Most draperies are hung too low.

The good news? It's one of the easiest mistakes to fix.

In this first edition of Designer's Notes, I'm sharing two decisions that can completely change how your draperies—and your room—feel.

Swipe through, save for later, and share with a friend who's planning window treatments.

And remember—always... hang 'em high.

Part 2 coming soon. 🧡🐇

A year ago, before packing up our old home, I paused to photograph one of our bookshelves.

At the time, I thought I was capturing a collection.

Now I realize I was capturing a chapter.

These books had lived with our family for years, quietly bearing witness to celebrations, conversations, traditions, and everyday moments that often become the memories we cherish most.

More than a year into our new home, they have found their place here too.

As I continue refining our spaces, I'm reminded of something I believe deeply: the most meaningful homes aren't built from all-new furnishings and accessories. They're layered with pieces that carry history, memory, and meaning.

That's also how I approach decorating.

Whether it's a collection of books, a beloved chair, family artwork, or an antique passed down through generations, the goal isn't to start over. It's to thoughtfully weave those pieces into the next chapter of your home.

Because beautiful rooms are about more than how they look.

They're about the life that's lived within them.

One of my favorite things about decorating is creating spaces that give people a reason to gather.

This room began with a simple idea: a dedicated place for Mahjong, conversation, laughter, and a little friendly competition.

Rich auburn walls, chinoiserie-inspired details, tortoise accents, emerald greens, lacquer finishes, and a touch of coral create a space that feels collected, layered, and inviting.

A room designed not just to be beautiful—but to be lived in.

What detail would you take away for your own home?

Truthfully… I was making “mood boards” long before they were called mood boards. Back then, we just called it Pinterest. 🤍

This is my first official design board created with the help of ChatGPT — and honestly, I’m leaning into it. As a new business owner, I want to use every tool available to help organize ideas, communicate vision clearly, and better serve future clients.

The vision itself still comes from me — the vintage finds, wallpaper pulls, paint colors, collected pieces, hardware, textures, and layered details I’m constantly inspired by. Technology just helps bring it all together in a more streamlined way.

This board is for our family’s coffee room/scullery, and I cannot wait to share how it comes to life in the weeks ahead. ☕️✨

Design should feel collected, personal, and lived-in… never overly perfect.
